Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ:
One of the blessings we have in the Archdiocese of New Orleans is the Archdiocesan Spirituality Center. The Center forms women and men to serve as spiritual directors and also provides spiritual direction for those who are seeking it. I am pleased to support the work of the Spirituality Center and to thank the members of the staff for the many ways in which they are a blessing to the lives of the people of God in the archdiocese. Through their ministry, they accompany other disciples of the Lord Jesus in their journey with him as they focus on prayer and a life of discipleship.
One of the priorities of our Archdiocesan Synod is "Embrace Christ in every family, parish and ministry". The Spirituality Center is well prepared to assist us in fulfilling this goal.
I have been associated with the Spirituality Center for many years and continue to appreciate the important ministry that is provided. It is evident that more people are seeking spiritual direction. What a great blessing this is! Furthermore, we need more trained lay women and men as well as religious and clergy to serve in this important role of spiritual director.
Please know that I am grateful to you for your commitment to the Spirituality Center and all that we can do to support its ministry to the people of God in the Archdiocese of New Orleans.

Thursday, July 163, 5 or 8-day Virtual Retreat Between Thursday, July 16 – August 30, 2020. We are all experiencing the new normal created by Covid 19. This includes our spiritual life. We are thankful for the gift of technology, which allows us to offer this retreat during a time when we are searching and maybe wondering, “Where is God in all this chaos?” Each retreatant will meet daily (virtually) with a spiritual director and be given scripture to pray with. Through scripture and reflection under the daily guidance of the Spiritual Director, the retreatant will become more aware of God’s presence and action in their life. Cost: $20/day. Join me in learning some prayer exercises for young people steeped in the 500-year-old traditions of St. Ignatius of Loyola. We encourage our young people to build their physical and academic muscles and grit. How about spiritual strength through habits of prayer? We invite you to join us in exploring the Examen, the Colloquy, and Imaginative Prayer and more for students engaged in virtual and in-person learning and community building. Stephanie Clouatre Davis is an Ignatian -trained spiritual director and retreat facilitator. Stephanie is on the staff of The Archdiocesan Spirituality Center and an associate with the Dominican Sisters of Peace. In her more than 22 years of ministry, she has directed hundreds of retreats and spoken at many conferences for adults, teens, and young adults.
