The statue of Our Lady under the title of Our Lady of Prompt Succor came to New Orleans in 1810. Over the following two centuries, the Ursuline Sisters have shared this devotion to Our Lady of "Quick Help" with many who pray to the Mother of God in moments of pain or need, joy or thanksgiving, or simply out of desire to live their lives with deepening fidelity and love. Â
Mission Statement Â
The National Shrine of Our Lady of Prompt Succor serves God and all God’s people as the center of devotion to the Mother of Jesus under the title of Our Lady of Prompt Succor—quick help. The shrine is a place of pilgrimage, worship and prayer and welcomes all who wish to come to this sacred place.Â

St. Jane de Chantal Parish is a large Parish on the Northshore, about 225 square miles of land area, encompassing several communities and large rural tracts. St. Jane de Chantal Church is located in Abita Springs, LA; and our Mission Church- St. Michael the Archangel Mission - is located in Bush, La, 15 miles north. We serve not only Abita Springs and Bush, but also Waldheim, Sun, Talisheek, and even a large portion of the Bogue Chitto National Wildlife Refuge, should you find yourself there any weekend.
Interestingly enough, given the way the Parish boundaries are laid out, when you drive into Louisiana from Mississippi on I-59 (from Picayune, Hattiesburg, etc.,) you enter into Louisiana through St. Jane de Chantal Parish. Be assured of our prayers, and if you're ever in the area we'd love to welcome you at either of our Churches.
In addition to the other clergy listed, Fr. Angel Diaz, O.P. - Northshore Director of Hispanic Ministry, is in Residence at St. Jane Parish.
