Transitional Deacons
On Saturday, May 16, 2026 at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Louis Cathedral, Archbishop Checchio will ordain Seth Smith and Hoang Pham to the Transitional Diaconate for the Archdiocese of New Orleans, and Michael Jawino for the Archdiocese of Tororo.
On Saturday, May 30, 2026 at 10:00am at the St. Louis Cathedral, Archbishop Checchio will ordain Brett Barrios, Joseph Bui, William Sigl and James Vu to the Priesthood for the Archdiocese of New Orleans. The Ordination Mass will be televised by WLAE-TV and live streamed at TheDailyMass.comPriestly Ordination
On Saturday, May 31, 2025 at 10:00 a.m. at the St. Louis Cathedral, Archbishop Aymond ordained Deacon Joseph Martello to the Presbyterate for the Archdiocese of New Orleans.

In a bright, sunny and warm December morning, five men were changed forever as they were ordained to the Transitional Diaconate - one of the final stages of formation in preparation to the priesthood. On Dec. 13 Brett Christopher Barrios, Joseph Ky Thanh Bui, William Sigl, and James Vu were ordained for the Archdiocese of New Orleans, and Allan Tembesi was ordained for the Archdiocese of Tororo. read more
