On Wednesday, Nov. 18, 2020, Archbishop Gregory Aymond blessed over 300 Thanksgiving food baskets to be delivered to 17 of
Catholic Charities Archdiocese of New Orleans’s programs, including Bethlehem Housing, Food for Seniors, Immigration and Refugee Services, Cornerstone Builders and St. Paul Head Start, among others.
Catholic Charities Archdiocese of New Orleans (CCANO) President and CEO Sister Marjorie Hebert said, “At CCANO, our goal through all of our programs is to put our faith in action. Through the generosity of the New Orleans community, we are able to be the hands and heart of Jesus Christ for our brothers and sisters in need this Thanksgiving.”
95 percent of every dollar given to CCANO goes directly to programs and services helping those in need in the community. This year, CCANO collected 103 baskets and 204 monetary donations from individuals, corporations and groups, some of whom have been contributing to the program for over 20 years. CCANO case managers were then able to nominate highest need families to receive baskets.
CCANO provides hope, help and loving care for the most vulnerable and needy in the eight civil parishes of the Archdiocese of New Orleans. The organization offers a variety of programs that care for the physical and mental well-being of the individual. More information can be found at
