July 9, 2025 To the Clergy, Religious, and Laity of the Archdiocese of New Orleans:
Dear Sisters and Brothers in Christ,
As I write to you, I am sure you are aware of the reports detailing the devastating floods in Central Texas. The loss of life and devastation to the community is truly tragic. In these challenging times, we are reminded that life is precious and that we must trust in the love and mercy of our Lord.
Please join me in prayer for the repose of the souls who lost their lives and for their families, especially those who have lost their children in the flooding. Please pray for the communities that have been impacted that they will know God’s love and consolation.
In addition to prayer, if you are able, please consider giving to the organizations that are working directly to aid the impacted areas. The Archdiocese of San Antonio and their local Catholic Charities have mobilized to provide shelter and relief supplies to those impacted. You may make a gift to your parish or directly to the Archdiocese of New Orleans marked for “Texas Flood Relief” and it will be directed to those working to aid our sister and brothers facing this tragedy.
Monetary gifts may be sent to:
Archdiocese of New Orleans
Texas Flood Relief
7887 Walmlsey Ave.,
New Orleans, LA 70125
Or you can find links online at nolacatholic.org to make a gift directly to those organizations in the affected areas.
Once again, I invite you to join me in prayer for those impacted.
Wishing you God’s blessings, I am,
Sincerely in Christ,
Most Reverend Gregory M. Aymond Archbishop of New Orleans
