“Today, we hear the story of a senseless act of violence that resulted in the deaths of two young children and injuries to 17 others while they attended school Mass at Annunciation Catholic School in Minneapolis. This is a tragedy beyond comprehension. Our prayers are with the entire community in Minneapolis. We hold in prayer the parents and families that have lost loved ones and for those who are injured and for the medical professionals who are caring for their injuries.
 
This is a heartbreaking and devastating situation. In times such as these, let us ask our loving and faithful God to give consolation to the victims and their families. Let us pray for their healing. Let us pray too that we may be a voice for life and human dignity in all things as we work to be peacemakers in our homes and in our communities. May God strengthen and protect all those affected by today’s evil actions.”
